Sitting on the bus I kept thinking I needed a shower after a weekend like that, 2013, oil on canvas, 32 x 48 inches
Through the use of bold colors and a whimsical drawing style, they create child-like images with adult undertones. Patterns, blocks of colors and bold outlines create a superficial playfulness in order to deliver the potent emotional feeling behind each painting. Inspired by the psychological effects of color and pattern, the paintings seemingly contradict themselves, creating an over-stimulated roller coaster of emotions. This work accumulated into a solo exhibited at the Giacometti Paul gallery in Brooklyn, New York in 2013.
